Q: Do I need a drum set to begin lessons?
A: N0. The initial drum lessons can be taught on a drum pad which simulates the feel of an actual drum. This can be purchased inexpensively at most local music stores or online.

Q: What materials do I need to get started?
A: The only materials you need to start are. Drum sticks, a drum pad and a notebook.

Q: How long is the lesson?
A: Each drum lesson is a minumum of 45 minutes in duration.

Q: Do I need to practice?
A: Yes. It is important to dedicate time to a routine practice schedule. This is the best and most efficient way to improve.

Q: I want to learn a particular song. Can you teach me how to play it?
A: Yes. Students are encouraged to provide recordings of songs that they enjoy. The songs are taught in an easy to understand manner.

Q: Are drum lessons really necessary?
A: Drum lessons are an important step in becoming a well rounded drummer. Only a qualified drum instructor can guide a student and correct mistakes in technique etc. that may lead to serious problems in the future.

Q: How do I choose the right drum instructor?
A: There are a few things that you should keep in mind when choosing a drum instructor, make sure that he...Teaches all genres & styles. Is fully able to teach you to read and understand drum notation. Has a good amount of teaching AND performing experience. Is able to supply you with written lesson notes for you to take away.
